Culture

Active Culture

Are you new in Stuttgart, don’t know that many people yet, but you love to meet new people and get to know different cultures? Then, and not only then, come to these amazing “multi-kulti” evenings to Jugendwerk der AWO Württemberg. Nice chilled atmosphere, open-minded people from every corner of the world.

National Gallery

Visiting the National Gallery can be the perfect ey e-candy for the day and you can deepen your cultural knowledge. Just visit the National Gallery for some hours and enjoy the collection. Here everybody can find something interesting: old master paintings and modern abstractions. All this each Wednesday for free. If you are under 20, you can enter always without paying. Enjoy!

State Theater

For all lovers of culture. Even if Stuttgart is not the cheapest place ever, the culture can be really very affordable! Don’t be afraid of coming to the cash point or just check the tickets online. The cheapest tickets for opera/ballet/drama from 9 EUR! For example, for the opera these seats are even one of the best ones, as you have a great view and can see the headlines easily. The opera and ballet have a very good and acclaimed quality and are very affordable.

Pig Museum

Did you visit each museum in Stuttgart? I think you didn’t… The famous Pig Museum is still waiting for you! History, exhibition, room for workshops, restaurant – are only a couple of special rooms what the museum offers. Finally you have the opportunity to learn everything about pigs – all this in a nice (and funny) atmosphere.

Zacke

The so called Zahnradbahn is a rack-and-pinion-railway that connects Marienplatz (take U15 in direction Heslach from the main train station) and Degerloch, and represents pretty well the Swabian attitude: entrepreneurship, inventiveness and love for machines (Achtung! cliché). Anyway, this train will save you a good while climbing up the alte Weinsteige and provides you with a very nice view over the Stuttgarter valley. Degerloch is a good spot to start a downhill tour back to the city centre through the forest or around Waldau. No matter which option you choose, you can do it on foot or by bike.

Werkstatthaus

If someone supports art and creativity in Stuttgart, then it is for sure Werkstatthaus. You have the possibility to attend different kinds of art courses, to use their technical rooms for your projects, to ask for advice or enjoy nice lemonade. No need to be shy! Contact them and try out yourself in different areas!
