Party, Food & Drinks

Palast Der Republik

An old Public Toilet reconstructed to a famous pub. You don’t need chairs or way too many benches for sitting: on the sidewalk there is always enough space for you and your friends. If you are searching for something in the city center: this is it! And most importantly: here you can find a free spot and some good drinks even after midnight!

Wagenhallen

Ruinpubs are IN! And so is Wagenhallen. If you wish to visit something special, drink a beer in a nice atmosphere, dance to Balkan music or shop at night you can do this in Wagenhallen. In summer they even open a nice beer garden, with campfire, candles and live music. Check out their homepage, inform yourself about the latest events and choose!

Club Zollamt

Are you tired of the noise of the city and do you want to do something a bit outside of Stuttgart? And beside this do you like electronical music and culture? If your answer is yes and yes, then don’t forget to visit Zollamt. Different kind of events, live music, parties, exhibitions and good vibes – all this is offered at this location.

Bix Jazz Club

Bix is a jazz club located just a few meters away from the U-Bahn station Rathaus. The programme includes consolidated world stars, local bands (including some coming out from the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart) and diverse events, such as parties (usually without entrance fee) or whisky-tasting seminars. The club consists of two floors (stage on the ground floor and lounge on the upper floor) in very elegant aesthetics and offers a wide range of quality drinks at reasonable prices, making a visit worth even in evenings without performance.

Café Del Sol

This restaurant is at the end of the world, indeed, in case you don‘t live next to the airport, BUT… it‘s really beautiful and worth visiting. Every Sunday and on the bank holidays there is a brunch planned. The price is acceptable and the offer is very rich and amazing. The place has the flair of the „southern lands“, in summer even with a sunny veranda in the style of South American countryside. A small hint – it‘s better to book in advance, because it could be booked out few weeks in advance. However, there are always some places for last-minute guests, too.

Café Galao

This small and very cute café is located right next to Marienplatz, which is considered as a popular local non-touristic meeting point. Café Galao is organizing free concerts every Wednesday and Saturday evening, from 20:00. Mostly unknown starting bands, song-writers, etc., from time to time also a bigger band from abroad. The owner is very friendly and finds a chair for every single guest, even if there is no place anymore!

Mrs Jones

Bar located right next to a popular alternative Hans-im-Glück-Brunnen hotspot. No wonder, when there is this cool bar! Looks like from the movie Pulp Fiction, with huge windows, golden chandeliers, and retrostyle-wallpapers. The clientele is what makes this bar to a cool place, as well – not those ones, who just ´wanna get wasted´ before going to a bigger party, but rather people enjoying cocktail or glass of wine, while talking to other people and dancing to cool tunes.

Kaffeehaus Glora

Glora coffee shop looks nothing special from outside. But it is inside the shop that you find a real gem. This elegantly furnished coffee shop offers freshly brewed Espresso/Coffee in oriental atmosphere. The liquid chocolate here simply tastes like liquid gold. On top, superb cakes and sweets from Italian to Turkish cuisine. Come in for a coffee-to-go or to-stay.

Wirtshaus Troll

Under the motto “pubs instead of lounges, rocking instead of staying at home” Troll is an entirely different option in Stuttgart. A few in Stuttgart do not know the pub. For more than 30 years it has been possible to drink and eat delicious food in Wirtshaus Troll and all with great music. In addition, they show live football, but do not forget to reserve a table or to go early! If you stay until midnight, you can let yourself be surprised! The team always starts witty activities (such as peanut fight).

Udo Snack

Many say that the Udo snack makes the best burgers in town. Many credits, such as TripAdvisor, attest to that. There are ten different burgers with the best ingredients, freshly prepared. These come with various side dishes and sausages prepared differently. The price here is a little higher, but well worth it, because no one has been really disappointed from their Burgers. One must also say that the place is often full. Ask yourself why! There you cannot sit. Either you take the burger, or you can stand there.

Zimt & Zucker

Zimt und Zucker is a cute little café where you can not only get some delicious coffee and even vegan cakes, but also the world’s best pancakes. The café also includes a shop, where you can buy bags, lamps, pillows, candles and other stuff like that.

Mata Hari

The Mata Hari is one of the bars at the Hans-im-Glück-Brunnen, on Saturday nights the place gets so full that people drink their beer in front of the doors even in the winter. Here students socialize on low sofas or at the long tables and the DJ plays general indie folk behind the bar. Highly recommended, it is also worth coming by during the day to eat tasty spinach lasagna or similar goodies from the daily menu, freshly cooked “completely without preservatives and flavor enhancers” – Yeah and Yummy!

Pub Quiz @ Irish Pub Biddy Early‘s

With the motto ´bring your team and have fun´ is Irish Pub Biddy Early´s organizing a pub quiz every Monday at 20:00. You can bring your friends, or just maybe join some other team and play the game! The questions are really quite difficult, but it makes so much fun! The teams (around 20) with funny names, such as ´When I think of you I touch myself´, ´The badass honey badgers´, ´I am more clever than my grandma´, etc. are competing while drinking the beer and having fun. Even those ones, who speak no German, can take part, as the questions are being asked twice in English and once in German. Once you try this, you become addicted!

Cortijo

Cortijo is more than just a Spanish restaurant. Here you can experience flamenco music live, every day except Wednesdays when you can dance salsa and bachata, also to live music. Come and join us at this amazing place and also don’t miss the chance to try the good Spanish tapas.
