Events in January

Filmwinter: Every year in January you can visit the Festival of Expanded Media, Filmwinter, in Stuttgart. Four international competitions with six prices, workshops, live acts and an exciting supporting plan for young and old expects the visitors.

Events in February

Fasching: Fasching is a traditional celebration – also known as carnival or Fastnacht. This is the best opportunity for you to dress up in fancy dresses and take part in a march through the city or join a theme-party somewhere in Stuttgart.

Active Culture: It seems like in March everybody is preparing herself/himself for the first sunshine of the year. On this occasion we invite you (if the Sun agrees) for the first BBQ of the year with Active Culture. Follow us to find out more.

Long night of museum is usually organized in April, where ca. 100 of institutions, galleries, museums organize for the visitors’ different kinds of exhibitions, tours and many special programs in a unique thematic.

Events in May

ITFS: Stuttgart is becoming once a year the centre of the world with regards to animated film for six days and nights. The Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS) is one of the most outstanding events for animated film worldwide.

Events in June

HEUSTEIGVIERTEL FEST: In Stuttgart you cannot get enough from street festivals. In June you can enjoy one in Heusteigviertel, its impressive Wilhelminian and Art Nouveau architecture, around the Mozart Street. The organizers always promise lots of fun, surprises and live music.

Events in July

Marienplatzfest: In the beginning of July you can attend a free festival at the Marienplatz. Food, music, nice atmosphere and usually good weather are waiting for you there. Don´t miss it out! This street festival is also a good opportunity to meet new people!

Events in August

Stutengarten: For three weeks hundreds of volunteers are creating a mini-Stuttgart for children. If you have luck you can visit them and check out how a children-city works. They are as real as the grownups: city hall, police station, hospital, shops, working hours…

Events in September

Feuerseefest: Stuttgart West is one if the most popular areas from Stuttgart. Urban and creative. Right in the Middle of Feursee the neighborhood is organizing yearly a street festival with tightrope walking across the lake, information, live music and culinary delights.

Events in October

Wasen: It is not called Octoberfest, but it is something similar. It runs under the name of Wasen. Just pick a „Drindl“ or „Lederhose“, book a tent and have fun.

Events in November

Made in Germany: The intercultural theater festival invites productions from all over Germany on the topic of immigration. The festival is held always in the beginning of November and the program includes different plays, musicals, puppet shows.

Events in December

Christmas market: If you smell almost everywhere in Stuttgart mulled wine, orange and cinnamon it most probably means, that you ended up in the Christmas Market. Here you find enough to eat, drink or even do ice-skating. Keep calm and enjoy Christmas.
